Stolen (poe/en)

🏠︎ Home

she disappeared in sadness
in repetitive blindness
what was once clear
is clear no more, it's...
heavy, heavy thoughts, weighing
dragging down the soul
the crates of pristine hope
a trope or a vivid dream?
have i made a step too near?
can't i recall anymore
what's momentum, solely
and what the call of destiny?
she glitters in the moon's blue shine
her pale skin burnt by candlelight
can't you hear her plead for help?
can't you hear her scream for life?
just a whisper makes it through
until she falls back asleep.

should my mortal eyes prepare
to witness the dread i formed?
i'm a minor obstacle
what about the entire world?
no one sees what lies within
lies? or truth? i shan't begin...
i can't seem to recall even
what i hadn't imagined.
can she ever take control?
can she ever learn to steer
the vessel bound by
crisscrossed strings?
the vessel dwarfed by
stalks of beans?
i don't know,
i don't know,
i can't know,
i should have known.

all my strongest shields last seconds
thoughts disappear with just a word
what's real then, am i misinformed?
persist? for what? rising from the dust
for something i can't trust?
summertime lust. is there nothing more?
should i return? there's no pain.
will i lose what i had gained?
what do i not know, what do i fear?
there's no threshold, it's just greed
these empty desires are the goal?
will we have to truly part?
the finish line is... back at the start
in the words of a bizarre story
in the rhymes of a poem i stole.
